Balance Your 2nd Chakra, YOUR VIBRATIONS Vol. 1, No. 2 - 9.07 Hello! I hope you were successful if you tried finding your Tanden after reading my last newsletter. Today I want to share more with you about the second chakra, to which the Tanden corresponds. The word "chakra" comes from Hindu metaphysics and refers to the energetic centers in the human body that receive, assimilate and transmit life energies. There are seven main charkas that, together, integrate different aspects of our being: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects. Each of the main chakas represents a level of consciousness and is related to the functioning of certain parts of the body. Physically, the second chakra is found just under the navel (approximately three finger-widths below and two finger-widths back) and is linked to the reproductive system, the bladder, the small intestine, and the lower back. As I had previously noted, the second chakra is where our life energy concentrates. It rules our desires. Our urges to create and procreate reside within it. Through our desire and enthusiasm, it pushes us to find solutions and ways to improve our circumstances in order to experience wellbeing. This chakra governs our personal and romantic relationships and is the center that controls the fluidity of our emotions; if we repress them, the chakra gets blocked. Also, this chakra, the sacral chakra (the word "sacral" comes from the Latin for sacred) helps us discover our mission in life. If this chakra is too active, one consequence can be that its vitality becomes anxiety to satisfy our desires and we feel unable to fulfill them. It can steal our peace of mind, forcing us to react to stimuli by impulse. If the chakra is blocked, we may lack enthusiasm and our search for fulfillment becomes paralyzed, there is no more initiative, life becomes mechanized. On the other hand, if the chakra is balanced and energy flows freely through it, we experience wellbeing, our emotions are stable, our thoughts are clear and positive, we feel peace and harmony. When a challenge comes up, we have the energy and ideas to find a solution. Our personal relations satisfy us and we feel that we have a mission to fulfill with our lives. To promote balance in this chakra, it is important to do things we enjoy. It has been proven that, when we do what we enjoy, our body produces more hormones. When we are happy, doing something fun, everything flows better. It is also helpful to do exercise that involve the hips, like dancing to cumbia! Finally, in meditating, we can visualize a soft, warm, orange-colored light filling our pelvic area and spilling over into the rest of the body. Hopefully this information and the suggestions to balance the sacral chakra are useful to you to enjoy your lives (even more). I encourage you to learn more about this powerful energy center! Wishing you peace and joy,
